Long-Term Care Foundations (for Speakers of Karen & Karenni Languages)
Long-Term Care Foundations is a free, short-term training program that prepares participants for entry-level union jobs in residential care homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. This program is offered in partnership with The Urban Village and provides a welcoming, culturally and linguistically responsive learning environment for speakers of Karen and Karenni languages. You will learn the skills employers are looking for and receive work readiness training to help you get hired quickly. The program includes hands-on instruction, career coaching, language-accessible support, and opportunities to connect with employers who are actively hiring. No prior long-term care experience is required. Our goal is to help you start a stable union job and begin building a long-term career in the healthcare field while honoring your strengths, experiences, and cultural background.
