Minneapolis College is offering a Technology Employment and Training program for participants that have an interest in pursuing a technology career and meet one of the definitions of a dislocated worker defined by the state. The Technology Employment and Training program pays for participants to complete the Google IT Support Certificate or a technical certificate program available at the time of checking eligibility. The participant will also receive career and employment guidance to ensure they find employment in the technology industry. The ultimate goal is for participants to get trained and land employment through this program.

Participant need to meet one of the areas underneath the dislocated worker for eligibility. (see below)

• Permanently Separated from Public or Private Sector
• Long-term unemployed (15 weeks) with limited employment opportunities
• Terminated or Substantial Layoff
• Self-Employed
• Veteran (discharged or released from active duty, unemployed, or employed in a job below skill level)
• Covered by Trade Adjustment Assistance underneath Title 19 (Sections 2271 to 2231)
• Displaced Homemaker

The Google IT Support Certificate will start in November. It is self-paced, online, and fast-tracked by meeting the timeframe of the individual. Participants must meet eligibility to have the IT Google Support Certificate paid by the Technology Employment and Training Program. See details of the Google IT Support Certificate (below):

• Google IT Support Certificate 16 weeks, 5 courses, Instructor Supported, Discounted Certification Exam, Industry recognized certification Technical Support Fundamentals The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services IT Security: Defense Against the Digital Dark Arts
