St. Paul Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 34
Looking for a multifaceted career that involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, repair, installation, servicing and maintenance? Plumbers install, maintain, and repair piping systems associated with drain waste and vent piping, rainwater drainage, water supply piping in buildings and houses. Plumbers also install piping systems for gases used in appliances, hospital medical gases, and laboratories. Plumbers’ skills are used working in residential, commercial, and industrial installations. They also install systems in high or enclosed spaces and in all types of weather conditions.
Service technicians must have a good understanding of electricity, science, refrigeration, and heat transfer and temperature control. In some programs, service applicants may be required to have additional post-secondary schooling as a prerequisite.
