Tell us about your background. I have over 20 plus years of experience in the Diversity and Inclusion space in various roles. But supplier diversity has always been my passion.
Share about your role at 3M as a Supplier Diversity Manager. My role to is identify ways to integrate diverse businesses into 3M’s bidding process. I am able to give Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) businesses the opportunity to do business with 3M by being the advocate and liaison to the Sourcing Team.
What do you think are some of the challenges of attracting more people to the manufacturing industry in Ramsey County? In my role, finding suppliers that have the capacity to do business with 3M can be challenging. But I know there are suppliers out there, we just have to make them aware of this important opportunity. Awareness of this initiative is very important!
Where do you see the most opportunities for residents who may have interest in a manufacturing career? I encourage people to look at 3M’s website. 3M is doing a lot of hiring in general, but especially in the plants.
