Responsibilities

Here’s what you can expect to do: Responds to questions regarding code enforcements for animal control, fire safety, vacant buildings and other related permits Calculates and collects fees, cash handling, and issuance of reciepts Assists customers in preparing an issuing business licenses, and building and trade permits Delivers exceptional customer service by providing accurate information and guidance Maintains records pertaining to all DSI functions and search files for information upon request For more information and essential functions, see our DSI Customer Service Specialist Job Description. Information Specific to this Position: The work location is downtown Saint Paul at 375 Jackson Street. This position is full-time and will require working Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm in a collective and supportive environment.

Qualifications

Six years of general clerical experience, two years of which must be at the Office Assistant III level, or equivalent. Experience must include performing complex customer service functions relating to areas such as business licensing, construction permits, fire safety, code compliance, zoning, animal control, public utilities, parks, libraries, land use or other regulatory compliance.

An Associate Degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred and may be substituted for up to two years of the required clerical experience.
