Responsibilities

Here’s what you can expect to do: The Project Manager Parks and Recreation will be responsible for supporting and be an active leader in the Awakenings Program. Recruit and engage youth Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships on behalf of local youth Develop, maintain relationships and resources with community organizations and city departments Perform professional work assisting in carrying out the day-to-day operations of assigned projects of the Division of Parks and Recreation. The Project Manager will report to the Restorative Practices Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

Five years of experience in the following areas such as: 

  • Experience working with youth with mental health and emotional issues 
  • Knowledge of mental health service systems and mental health concepts 
  • Business and Specialty areas, e.g. recreation, project management/administration, development and planning, community resources, health and safety, group dynamics, community engagement

Degrees in Sociology, Human Studies/ Development, Youth Work/Leadership, Liberal Arts, Community Engagement, Civic Engagement, Child Psychology, or a closely related field may be substituted for work experience as follows:

Associate Degree - 2 years Bachelor’s Degree - 4 years

Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
