Responsibilities

Mail Operations is searching for a dock master to manage, secure, and regulate dock operations at the Minnesota Department of Revenue’s main office in St. Paul. This position is responsible for managing the receipt of all supplies and equipment purchased for the Department of Revenue, maintaining a secure and regulated entrance to the dock area of the building, and managing the agency’s fixed assets and general property. The dock master documents and communicates accurate and timely information on additions, modifications, and transfers in a fixed asset database, as well as communicating with other areas of the agency as needed for transfer of equipment or other items.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

Data entry procedures and systems, such as Microsoft Office or similar data entry systems or Typing/Keyboarding, using Microsoft Word or equivalent software, sufficient to produce documents such as emails and other correspondence in an efficient and timely manner Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person and via email Skills in setting work priorities, arranging staff coverage to meet workload needs, initiating new work assignments Preferred Qualifications Experience in coordinating shipping and receiving Loading dock experience, including using equipment such as pallet jacks, cardboard balers, and/or dock lift plates Experience in updating and maintaining inventory databases Ability to collaborate and cooperate with employees from other divisions to effectively coordinate services provided, seek information, and resolve problems Physical Requirements Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer. Move and or Transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Additional Requirements
