Performs routine field and/or office engineering work assisting more experienced employees in designing, drafting, inspecting, and surveying. Assists with field counts and observations. Issues permits. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Information about this position: The Engineering Aide I is a valuable crew member that assists with construction layout and data collection and will provide the candidate with exposure to construction and survey practices.

Typical Duties: Assisting in staking streets, sewer, and water main during construction projects Aiding in setting up work zone traffic control systems for various engineering and land surveying projects Indexing, filing, and maintaining various construction and land survey records Assisting in LIDAR data and equipment Ensuring that the crew has the materials and equipment necessary to perform the day's tasks Testing, maintaining, and cleaning of survey equipment Anticipated hours for this position will be Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with room for flexibility.

Qualifications

High School graduation or General Education Development Certificate (GED) with high school or post secondary course work in mathematics including algebra and geometry.

Some positions may require a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out of state driver's license.
