JOB SUMMARY:
Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes housing, mental health, medical, youth justice, education and employment, and community services. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually.

The Community Engagement Coordinator creates a strategy that builds relationships, develops partnerships, and raises funds to support the organization and promote social justice. This includes engaging community members in meaningful ways through outreach, presentations, volunteering, internships, group service projects, giving, and fundraising events.

LOCATION: Community-Based – This role involves extensive time in the community including outreach sites, partner organizations, community events, and/or client homes. Work location will vary week to week. Employees may be required to be fully onsite during the initial three-month training period.

TYPICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: • Ability to perform the duties outlined in the job description. • This job is full-time at 37.5 hours a week. • General work in an office environment. • Significant time spent outside of an office and in the community. • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance required. • Flexible work schedule as some evening and weekend work required. • Face to Face is subject to the government mandate requiring employee COVID vaccination. All employees will be required to get vaccinated.

PAY & BENEFITS:
The pay rate for this position is between $26 - $28/hour, based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Community Engagement • Create an annual strategy for community engagement. • Conduct regular volunteer, intern, service project, partnership, and resource needs assessments with staff. • Maintain a list of current needs to promote to the community and communicate with department team members. • Engage community members in fundraising activities including tours, visits, and events. Maintain relationships that are developed and continue to find ways to engage community members. • Collaborate with the Development Associate on special events and provide support to various committees and volunteers during fundraising campaigns and events. • Promote the Friends of Face to Face group and refer interested people to the Private Giving Coordinator.

Community Outreach • Conduct community outreach with a special emphasis on faith communities, civic groups, businesses, corporations, and employee resource groups. • Collaborate with the Private Giving Coordinator to develop strategies for outreach to corporate giving programs and employee resource groups. • Present information about the organization and social justice issues to groups through tours, meetings, information sessions, etc. • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to create outreach tools (materials, presentations, tabling kits, contact forms, etc.). Maintain supplies for staff to use in outreach. • Train and support staff in community outreach and presentations.

Volunteer and Intern Program Coordination • Develop and maintain a volunteer and intern program which includes record keeping, recruitment, screening, matching, orientation, and training. • Organize group service projects. • Ensure volunteers, interns, and groups are recognized. • Train and support staff in volunteer and intern supervision.

Other • Track community engagement and outreach for all areas of work. Prepare regular updates on impact for the leadership team. • Keep up to date on trends, resources, and information related to community engagement. • Step in and help to "get the job done" as needed. • Provide all services guided by the Nine Evidence-Based Principles for Helping Youth Overcome Homelessness; and • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: • Post-secondary education and/or previous experience in related field. • Minimum of two years of experience in volunteer administration with certification in volunteer management preferred. • Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with others. • Excellent public speaking skills with the capacity to serve as a spokesperson for the organization. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task on a daily basis. • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom). • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
