The Roseville Parks and Recreation intern will gain first-hand experience and training in community recreation programming and event management, including youth and adult programs, athletics and special events. This position will be designed according to the needs and interests for both the intern and the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department. The Parks and Recreation Intern is seasonal and works under the supervision of Recreation Supervisors and the Recreation Superintendent. The Intern will assist with the management of parks and recreation elements, including but not limited to, the development of programs, projects, special events, as well as logistics, administrative tasks and customer service. The Roseville Parks and Recreation Internship is up to 40 hours a week for 10-20 weeks. Schedules are based on Department needs and will include daytime, evening, and weekend hours. The Parks and Recreation intern has an essential role in the city’s annual festival, Rosefest, and Party in the Park.

Developing program and special event curriculum and lead or assist in implementation.
Communicate and support contract vendors in the delivery of programs including rosters, paying invoices, facility logistics, and evaluation.
Create marketing materials using various platforms to educate and promote parks and recreation.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers at the front desk, the parks, and recreation facilities.
Assist in administrative tasks, mailings, payroll processing, and data entry.
Continually shows respect for diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and interests. Exhibits sensitivity to the needs of diverse audiences in all duties performed on behalf of the City to support Roseville in building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment and community.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION: • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license • Previous experience working in recreation or a related field • Available to work morning, afternoon, and evening hours as well as weekends May-August

Parks & Recreation Intern is responsible for varied technical, complex, and confidential functions, many of which have deadlines and require significant attention to detail.
