Responsibilities
Summary
As a Homemaker Caregiver, you’ll help clients to maintain a safe and clean home and perform various housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation and companionship activities for clients in their homes. Responsibilities and Functions - what you’ll do:
- Manage homemaking activities which includes cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning bathrooms
- Conduct planning and help in preparing meals and snacks according to the specific dietary requirements of the client.
- Wash dishes and clean the kitchen.
- Provide companionship which can include accompanying the client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, assistance with hobbies
- Provide incidental transportation for clients which includes visits to doctors, friends, family members, and stores
- Perform other housekeeping tasks as indicated in the care plan.
- Participate in in-service education programs and other related/required programs.
- Maintain a high level of client confidentiality

- Must be able to communicate with clients and carry out instructions • Knowledge of housekeeping procedures
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
