ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:
Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes housing, mental health, medical, youth justice, education and employment, and community services. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually.

JOB SUMMARY: The Private Giving Coordinator develops and nurtures a private funding support base by building relationships and giving opportunities with individuals, major donors, philanthropists, foundations (family, corporate, community), and corporate giving programs to grow unrestricted revenue.

LOCATION: Hybrid – This role allows for a mix of onsite and remote work, based on the needs of the organization. Employees are required to be fully onsite during the initial three-month training period.

PAY & BENEFITS:
The pay rate for this position is between $31.50 and $33.00 per hour, based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Identify private funding sources that match the organization’s mission. • Work with the Data Specialist to identify, cultivate, and solicit individual donors who can give large gifts annually including major donors. • Connect organizational leaders with prospective and existing major donors and funders to build deeper relationships. • Engage prospects and donors and funders in fundraising activities including tours, donor visits, and events. • Develop and implement communication and engagement strategies to successfully retain current donors/funders and upgrade donors and funders gifts. • Serve as the point of contact for new donors and funders, and the Friends of Face to Face group. • Maintain relationships that are developed and continue to find ways to engage donors. • Track communication, view data, and assist in analyzing data to inform and prioritize individuals and strategies. • Coordinate the process of private funding grant applications including research, planning, writing, compliance, and reporting. • Research and identify new sources of funding and work with staff to assess their appropriateness to the mission, strategic plan, budget, and organization capacity. • Track the grant application process and support staff in managing deadlines. • Collaborate with program staff to ensure all applications reflect program priorities and work accurately. • Write applications with a social justice lens and center the experiences and needs of youth. • Review grant award notices and contracts and make recommendations to staff on the appropriateness of acceptance. • Complete grant acceptance process and create a summary grant details and compliance. • Facilitate the post-grant award process by ensuring that program managers, data specialist, and the finance team to understand contract/grant program provisions, budget elements, and reporting requirements. • Monitor grant compliance and notify team of any potential noncompliance issues as soon as possible. Request modifications to grant workplans and/or budgets in writing as needed. • Track reporting requirements and deadlines, and coordinate staff efforts to meet those deadlines. • Coordinate with program and finance staff to prepare reports and gather narrative, data, and financial information to retain public funding. • Maintain electronic and hard copy files for all grants and contracts. • Maintain professional working relationships with staff, youth, funding entities, other nonprofits, and the community. • Join professional circles, attend local events, and/or networking opportunities to build pipeline opportunities and referrals. • Provide all services guided by the Nine Evidence-Based Principles for Helping Youth Overcome Homelessness; and • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience. • Working knowledge of fundraising from individuals; mid-level or major gift donor experience preferred. • Working knowledge of grant writing and reporting processes; foundation grant experience preferred. • Proven capacity to effectively communicate in writing. • Ability to make persuasive and motivating presentations and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills. • Exceptional organizational skills and proven capacity to manage projects. Ability to meet multiple competing deadlines. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising good judgment and when to involve others. • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, Racial, and cultural backgrounds.
