Business Manager (Hybrid) Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

Position

106 Group has an immediate opening for an experienced Business Manager. They will be responsible for managing the Business team for a thirty-person, national consulting company. This position involves working collaboratively with others to manage the contracting process, lead the accounting, finance, human resources, contracts, travel, and office management responsibilities and perform mid-level accounting tasks.

The ideal candidate will have business management experience in consulting, small business, or nonprofit organizations. We seek an organized individual with a good eye for detail, excellent communication and management skills, who works collaboratively with colleagues and can adapt to the challenges of a fast-paced consulting company.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business management, accounting, or law, and at least five years of related work experience.

The successful applicant will manage a small Business team that is responsible for managing accounting, finance, human resources, travel arrangements, contracting, and office management. Responsibilities include:

-Business Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day business operations, develop, and implement operational policies, procedures, and workflows that promote efficiency and effectiveness. -Human Resources Management: Develop, implement, and administer HR strategies, policies, and procedures. Manage recruitment and talent acquisition processes. Ensure compliance with labor laws, handling employee relations, and managing disciplinary procedures when necessary. Oversee compensation and benefits administration. Maintain employee handbooks and other related HR documentation. -Team Management: Lead and manage the Business team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members, helping them achieve their professional goals. Align team goals with the company's overall objectives. -Contract Management: Manage our client and partner contracts and processes in collaboration with other managers and our external professional advisors. Review, analyze, and track contracts, coordinating and managing commercial insurance, management of business certifications, overseeing compliance with all contract terms and ongoing evaluation of the contracting process. -Policy and Compliance: Develop and implement company policies and processes, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws. Stay informed about industry trends, employment legislation, and best practices. -Employee Engagement and Culture: Foster an inclusive and positive work culture that promotes employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Plan employee engagement activities and initiatives. Promote diversity and inclusion within the organization. -Strategic Planning and Collaboration: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and align business strategies. Provide input and recommendations on workforce planning and talent management. Participate in strategic decision-making processes and contribute to the overall growth and success of the company.

Compensation

The 106 Group offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The minimum base salary for this position is $85,000 plus benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business management, accounting, law, or a closely related field. -Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications. -Demonstrated time management skills and ability to complete tasks within assigned schedule. -Be detailed and process oriented. -Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. -Ability to work individually and as a team. -Ability to adapt quickly, work well under pressure, and manage multiple tasks/priorities. -Ability to multi-task and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. -Valid driver’s license and ability to reliably commute to 106 Group office.

Additional experience valued or preferred: -Master’s degree in business or law and/or an AAS degree in Business Administration -Good working knowledge of current information technologies.
