The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing effective HR services in the following areas: recruitment and selection, onboarding, employee training and development, employee relations, and company-wide safety initiatives. They will also support the HR Team with employee and corporate benefits administration, payroll administration, and compliance initiatives and regulations. They will serve as a culture advocate positively promoting and maintaining the company’s culture in accordance with our core values.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment and Onboarding • Execute all aspects of the company’s recruiting processes working with hiring managers to update job descriptions, post positions, interview candidates, and fill positions with the right person in the right seat (RPRS) • Execute Company onboarding procedures and conduct new hire orientation • Work with department managers to develop future staffing and department needs in accordance with the company’s strategic goals</p> Training and Performance • Modify performance review templates as needed and ensure the review process is completed consistently and timely across the organization • Develop and administer training opportunities for internal employees providing the desired career pathing • Administer the Tuition Reimbursement program Compliance • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and objectives of the Company • Create and/or update existing policies and procedures in employee handbook • Certify compliance with all applicable state law, federal law, and HR related legislation, such as employment, benefits, and safety (ADA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA, EEO, OSHA, etc.) • Serve as a Safety Committee member actively promoting safety policies, goals, and initiatives • Provide assistance to employees and managers with personnel or policy related questions • Administer Workers Compensation injury reporting and tracking and ensure accurate Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reporting • Manage Workers Compensation claims by working with third party vendors and department managers as necessary • Assist the CFO and Org Development Director with the Corporate Benefits renewal process Culture • Communicate and cultivate a culture that supports the company’s core values and employee ownership mentality • Assist managers and employees with conflict resolution and performance improvement plans if needed

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serve as backup for payroll processing ensuring accuracy of pay to all employees • Perform a variety of special projects as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field is required. Master’s Degree with PHR or SPHR Certification is a plus. • Minimum of 5+ years HR experience in fast paced and growing environment. • In-depth knowledge of the various HR processes including recruiting, employee relations, payroll, compliance, performance management, and training and development. • Previous distribution or manufacturing industry experience is a plus. • Strong problem solving, time management, organization, and project management skills. • Superior people skills, strong communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflict with employees and customers. • Proficient computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite. • High attention to detail and able to handle highly confidential information • Ability to take direction from multiple levels of the organization and manage own workload
