We are looking for an individual who wants to be part of a growing team that provides exceptional service to our clients, and we have an immediate full-time opportunity for an Associate Environmental Technician within our Environmental Practice Center located in St Paul, MN. This position will work with experienced staff members to receive on the job, project-specific work requirements. However, the remainder of the work will be relatively independent with daily/weekly project reporting and coordination with management to complete project tasks and deliverables.
Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for:
Conducting fieldwork assignments, including soil, soil vapor and groundwater sampling, construction oversight, asbestos and regulated material inspections. Directing drill crews, monitoring soil boring exploration programs, preparing boring logs, and documentation for the above referenced project types. Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) site reconnaissance. Position will also require some office support.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Zero (0) to Five (5) years of experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to provide own means of reliable transportation for occasional day trips
- Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.
- Occasional overnight travel could be required
- Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or related field
- Must possess strong technical writing skills and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
- Previous experience with construction oversight, soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling
- Working knowledge in GPS and GIS applications
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPPER Safety Training
