The Production Planner is a member of the Production Planning team. The team’s purpose is to undertake assignments relating to the planning and scheduling of production operations, methods and/or processes to meet all internal and external customer requirements.

The Production Planner contributes to the team’s goals by validate Bills of Materials and Routing/Planning sheets in accordance with company procedures and Quality system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous • 1-3 years manufacturing experience in a production planning role, preferably in metal fabrication • Vocational/Technical degree or equivalent preferred • Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software. • Good written and oral communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Basic Computer Skills including Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic SAP • Should be able to work closely with fellow employees in a positive manner • Understand and comply with all HSE, Compliance and other Company Policies • Must know Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical procedures and work instructions as it applies to the position • Perform various other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager within the physical constraints of the position

Qualifications

• Conduit between shop/engineering/customer service • Checking BOM/routing data after engineering release • Reviewing trends of completed orders using lean tools for improvements • Create production order from MRP demand • Working with Customer Service on lead time estimates to meet external customer needs • Review MRP data- running reports • Work with inventory control and procurement on stocking levels and requirements • Maintain planning tools as needed • Variance checking of delivered production orders • Communicating and working closely with Sales/Customer Service, Design/Engineering, Procurement, Quality and the Manufacturing staff • Must know Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical procedures and work instructions as it applies to the position. • Perform various other duties as assigned by the Manager.
