UNION Finishing Trades for Women

MN Training Partnership

Minnesota Training Partnership’s Union Finishing Trades for Women program prepares eligible women to enter careers in commercial painting, industrial coating, drywall finishing, glass work, and glazing. In this short-term program, you’ll gain hands-on skills needed by local employers and receive assistance to enter a Registered Apprenticeship. Training will take place at the Finishing Trades Institute of the Upper Midwest (FTIUM) in Little Canada, MN. What

Our Comprehensive Program: 

  • Assessment, enrollment, and orientation 
  • 4 weeks of hard skills training onsite at FTIUM in Little Canada, MN 
  • Additional sessions on career exploration, work readiness, job search skills, job retention skills, financial management, and more 
  • Individualized support, guidance, and coaching to help you complete training and find career success as a woman in the trades 
  • Connections to opportunities for local employment and entry into Registered Apprenticeship 
  • Post-placement support
