Hospitality Foundations
Hospitality Foundations is a short-term training program that prepares you for entry-level union jobs in hotels, restaurants, catering companies, and event venues. The program is free to people who qualify. You will learn the skills employers are looking for and receive work readiness training to help you get hired quickly. The program includes hands-on instruction, career coaching, and opportunities to connect with employers who are actively hiring. No prior hospitality experience is required. Our goal is to help you start a stable union job and begin building a long-term career.
You will also have the opportunity to earn a Hospitality and Customer Service Training Certificate from the University of Minnesota Extension and Hospitality Minnesota. Minnesota Training Partnership will connect you with employers and support your job search after the program ends. Our staff are committed to helping you overcome barriers and succeed in your career. We continue to provide support even after you are hired to ensure your success on the job.
Our next Hospitality Foundations training cohort begins September 26, 2026 and ends October 22, 2026. The program will be held at the Hubbs Center (1030 University Ave W, St Paul, MN 55104).
Classes will be Monday through Thursday, 1 pm – 4 pm.
Prior to program start, you will need to complete assessment, enrollment, and orientation, so please contact us today to learn more.
