Plumber Apprentice Applications

Mon-Fri 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM.

Local 15 Apprentice Program
The apprenticeship program is for a 5-year period and requires 8,780 on-the-job hours of work. Additionally, all apprentices attend 175 hours of related classroom instruction for each year while in the program.

• Apprentices get paid while they train on the job.
• Apprentices start at 45% of the journey worker wage.
• Apprentices attend night school which is 2 nights a week for 25 weeks a year, 5–8:30 pm, September thru April with a break for Thanksgiving, Holiday Break, and Spring Break. You are not paid for attending school.
• Annual Tuition is approximately $700 per year.
• All students receive a Chromebook and text books at no additional charge.
• Job placement will be with a Union Contactor.
• Requirements to graduate: you must obtain both the State of Minnesota and City of Minneapolis Plumbing License.

The Application Process
Plumber, Apprentice Plumbers Local 15 Joint Journeyman & Apprentice Training Committee will be accepting applications for an on-the-job Plumber Apprenticeship Training Program for the Minneapolis & St. Cloud areas. St Cloud apprentices work in that jurisdiction.  Requirements include:

• Minimum 17 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Interested in career opportunity

Applications will be accepted January 12-23, 2026, M-F 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Applications for both the Minneapolis. & St Cloud programs will be in-person at the Plumbers Local 15 Training Center located at 8625 Monticello Lane N., Maple Grove MN 55369.
