Aspen Waste Systems has the opportunity for you! Aspen Waste Systems of Minnesota, Inc. is currently seeking a Container Shop Supervisor for our  Eagan Container shop located at 3255 Sibley Memorial Hwy Eagan, MN 55121.

Aspen Waste Systems of Minnesota is a privately-owned, growing company providing waste and recycling collection services for commercial and residential customers in the Minneapolis/St Paul metropolitan area.

Pay range: $82,000 - $92,000/year

Principal Responsibilities

Aspen’s Container Shop Supervisor is responsible for managing Welders and Container shop employees, and monitoring daily welding/fabricating operations.   Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Promoting a safety-first culture by enforcing Aspen’s safety policies and ensuring daily operations are completed safely and responsibly.  Guiding the Container Shop’s workflow so that production goals are met while maintaining Aspen’s quality standards. Ensuring welders and container shop employees timely report to duty wearing the required uniform and safety gear.  Assigning work and adjusting work as needed. Coaching welders and other container shop employees on topics including safety procedures, OSHA compliance, performance management, disciplinary action, vacation requests, and payroll/time sheet approvals.  Oversee shop inventory, and ordering stock as needed. Screening and interviewing applicants for open positions.  Communicating promptly with other members of management, welders, and container shop employees regarding job assignments, safety concerns, maintenance needs, as well as other matters. Managing and overseeing the training program for new welders.  Continually evaluate operations to identify efficiencies and improve work quality. Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Excellent communication skills   Previous industry experience preferred   Able to use Microsoft Office and Excel Multi-tasking, and time management   2-year welding and fabrication experience or a 2-year welding diploma or degree program from a community college or technical program, or work experience directly related to welding or steel fabrication is preferred 2 years minimum in a prior management/supervisor role, preferably in a welding/fabrication shop environment Strong organizational skills Knowledge of industry safety practices
