Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial building systems across our managed properties.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with all types of commercial HVAC equipment, such as heat pumps, roof top units, VAV’s, chillers, boilers, and building automation systems This role requires someone who can work independently, identify potential issues before they become larger problems, and confidently handle equipment configuration, maintenance, repairs, and replacements in a proactive manner.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled, preventative, and corrective maintenance on commercial buildings, equipment, and building systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and other mechanical systems, such as blower motors, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, roof top units, cooling towers, pumps and other building equipment.
- Monitor, operate, and adjust building automation systems and controls to support efficient building operations.
- Inspect building systems and identify needed repairs, replacements, or capital improvement recommendations.
- Perform general building repairs and maintenance, including plumbing and light electrical.
- Prioritize and manage daily workload across assigned commercial properties.
- Provide clear communication and updates regarding work performed, system concerns, and recommended next steps.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, maintenance areas, and vehicles in a clean and professional manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with commercial HVAC maintenance, repairs and replacements.
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with building automation systems and configuration.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or building
engineering experience; additional experience strongly preferred. - Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve HVAC and other building system issues, independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow equipment manuals, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Professional and customer-service focused when working with tenants, vendors, property managers, and ownership.
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license and ability to travel locally between properties.
- Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and safely work with tools and equipment required for the role.
