We have an exciting opportunity within our team as a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). We are a collaborative team who value a relationship-driven approach by actively partnering with hiring managers, human resources team members, and other stakeholders to recruit and retain a workforce dedicated to MDVA’s mission to serve Minnesota Veterans and their families. Critical to this role is delivering independent HR expertise, consultation, guidance, and subject matter expertise in such HR functional areas as recruitment, staffing, workforce planning, performance management, classification and compensation. Using specialized knowledge and sound judgment, this position supports managers, supervisors and employees ensuring consistent, timely and quality delivery of staffing needs.
Responsibilities
This position mentors and provides work direction to HR Specialists/Technicians (1 or 2) as well as monitors transactional processes.
Qualifications
*Three (3) years related human resources experience performing at least three (3) of the areas outlined below with the ability to be trained in the remaining areas:
- Full cycle recruitment experience that includes:
- Advising management with the vacancy filling process
- Establishing minimum qualifications
- Developing interview questions
- Developing and recommending job posting, assessment and selection criteria
- Design and implement strategic recruitment plans
- Job analysis/evaluation
- Analyzing and recommending compensation
- Interpreting and advising on current employment laws, regulations, policies and contracts/plans related to classification, recruitment, selection, hiring, promotion and or retention of employees.
*A bachelor’s degree in human resources or closely related degree will substitute for one (1) year of experience.
And
- Experience providing managers/supervisors with labor relations guidance.
- Ability to lead, coordinate and support the work of other human resource staff.
- Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) with the capability to execute and advise on HR transactions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Experience with State of MN’s HRIS system (SEMA4) or equivalent system.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking system (Recruiting Solutions) or equivalent system.
- Experience conducting job audit and classification determinations within the State of MN.
- Experience with a job evaluation system such as Hay method.
