Join the Saint Paul Public Library as a Custodian II and play a key role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for the community. In this position, you’ll perform custodial work across library facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, supporting daily operations, and contributing to a positive experience for patrons and staff. The current vacancy shift is Monday - Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. and is based out of Rondo Community Library and is expected to drive to other sites.
Responsibilities
- Clean restrooms
- Vacuum and edge offices and hallways
- Remove trash from offices, breakrooms, and grounds
- Sweep and mop breakrooms and stairwells
- Perform seasonal grounds work including lawn maintenance and snow removal
- Assist with stripping and waxing floors
- Assist Custodial Engineers with light maintenance work
Qualifications
Good physical condition.
For positions in Fire Department, Libraries, Police Department, Public Works, and the Saint Paul Regional Water Services: Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license. This position will be for the libraries, but qualified applicants will be added to an eligible list that will be used to fill other Custodian positions that open up.
