Description
Job Summary: The Construction Estimator plays a critical role in the preconstruction phase by developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates that support project planning and successful delivery. The Estimator works closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and design partners to evaluate project scope, analyze costs, and identify opportunities to optimize value while maintaining project goals.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document estimates
- Develop value engineering options that maintain design intent while improving cost efficiency.
- Manage subcontractor bid invitations and bid tracking Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and preconstruction leadership to develop accurate project budgets.
- Review construction documents for completeness, constructability, and coordination issues.
- Champion company values in daily interactions and project decisions.

Qualifications
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in construction estimating or preconstruction
- Strong understanding of construction documents, building systems, and construction processes.
- Experience with estimating software, quantity takeoff tools, and construction management platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail with a strong commitment to estimate accuracy.
- Construction company experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook required
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment with extensive
telephone, copier, scanner, printer, computer, and keyboard usage. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels and other
items up to 25 pounds and to walk short distances. Must have the ability to drive a vehicle to attend meetings and deliver or pick
up materials. The person in this position frequently communicates with staff, vendors and customers and must be able to
exchange and communicate accurate information in these situations.
