Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities: 

• Support individuals to achieve personal outcomes that characterize a high quality of life, optimal health & well-being in accordance with program-specific requirements, and engage in respectful communication.
• Planning activities in the community or at home that are unique to the person’s preferences and interests. The sky's the limit with this one! IHS Specialists model creative thinking and problem-solving skills to support individuals in finding hobbies, passions, and meaningful activities to engage in.
• Household safety knowledge and overall self-preservation skills, other duties as assigned.

IHS Specialists: 

• You have the dedication to provide culturally competent services to uphold each individual’s way of life, preferences, and daily choices.
• You are willing to transport clients in your own vehicle (individuals may have walkers, wheelchairs, or other medical equipment) when deemed necessary.
• This position involves driving. There is no “home-base” for IHS Specialists, this is a community-based role.

Homemakers: 

• Monitor the person’s well-being while in the home, including home safety. 
• Homemaker/cleaning services include light housekeeping tasks, home cleaning, and laundry services. HMK is $18/hr and IHS starts at 20/hr DOE.
