Description
The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) goals are met. This role leads team performance, drives continuous improvement, maintains a productive work environment, and upholds company standards to support operational excellence and deliver high-quality products.
Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 10:45pm - 7:15am
Responsibilities
- Make informed decisions using SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) principles.
- Schedule personnel according to production priorities.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Provide clear direction and support to direct reports to meet team and organizational goals.
- Deliver timely, constructive feedback to team - both positive and developmental.
- Actively participate in job start-up and end-of-run processes, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Participate in all active Performance Qualification (PQ) jobs.
- Consistently achieve daily MME KPI targets to support monthly goals.
- Conduct regular floor walks to ensure operations are running smoothly and product quality is maintained.
- Communicate pass-downs effectively to incoming shifts.
- Lead weekly shift meetings to ensure alignment and engagement.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organization.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by generating and supporting new ideas.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports.
- Enforce and follow all company quality standards and guidelines.
- Verify completion of required training for all new team members.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with all team members.
- Maintain and manage 5S standards within the production area.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to foster collaboration.
- Promote a positive team culture, recognize achievements, and champion teamwork.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Valid identification and authorization to work in the United States. Minimum of 3 years of experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing, including at least 1 year in a quality inspection role. At least 2 years of supervisory experience required. Participation in major company projects involving creative problem-solving (e.g., productivity improvements, customer tour enhancements, facility renovations, program/talent transfers). Familiarity with Epicor ERP system preferred. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to read and comprehend production instructions, policies, safety procedures, and business communications. Intermediate math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and use of decimals in various units of measure. Ability to accurately record production data and inspect product quality visually. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with team members at all levels. Good manual dexterity and attention to detail. Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs unassisted. Must be able to walk, climb stairs, stand, bend, and stoop as required within office and shop environments.
