The City of Saint Paul is seeking a strategic, policy-focused Intergovernmental Relations Associate to join Mayor Her's administration to help advance the City’s priorities at the state and federal level. In this highly visible role, you’ll report directly to the Director of Intergovernmental Relations and be responsible for tracking legislation, assisting with shaping policy strategy, and building critical partnerships with elected officials, agencies, and advocacy groups. Responsibilities

  • Serve as an advocate and liaison before the Minnesota State Legislature, U.S. Congress, along with various government entities, groups, and associations on legislative and policy priorities.
  • Monitor and provide routine updates on state and federal bills, committees, and other legislative affairs.
  • Draft, review, and coordinate intergovernmental communications, including the management of data and documents.
  • Communicate regularly with federal, state, and local elected officials and coordinate meetings, opportunities to testify and other public communications.
  • Compile, track, and monitor state and/or federal funding opportunities.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of professional experience.
