Responsibilities

The Delivery Driver is responsible for completing assigned deliveries and pick up of merchandise and assist with shipping and receiving responsibilities. Also provide top service to customers at business sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Pull and scan orders for the day to load trucks with materials for delivery route 
• Operate company vehicle in a professional, safe and courteous manner following all traffic rules 
• Drive standard route, of about 150 miles/day and deliver merchandise to customers in a timely manner 
• Serve as a liaison to sales and other managers, reports on progress, communicates to appropriate personnel to enhance customer service/support 
• Perform daily pre/post trip safety inspection on truck; i.e. check turn signals, tires, etc.; DOT manifest preparation and complete paperwork
• Unload items and process paperwork at customer locations 
• Ensure delivery of appropriate merchandise in accordance with customer invoices 
• Provide customer with receipt and/or credit form for merchandise to be picked up 
• Complete dock and tailgate stops on route. Checks empty cylinders and replace; have bills signed and perform sales and customer service tasks 
• Return credit merchandise with appropriate paperwork and inform management of delivery 
• Offload empty cylinders at location 
• Sort through delivery tickets in preparation of next day’s route 
• Double check invoices and forward to billing clerk 
• Assist in maintaining a neat and clean workplace at all times
