Responsibilities
This Opportunity:
- Assist traffic engineering staff as able and qualified with all variety of multimodal traffic engineering tasks including analysis, design, and study reports
- Conduct safety analysis tasks for transportation and highway planning and design projects Setup and pickup of traffic counters and video cameras for traffic data collection
- Conduct technical traffic operations analysis using traffic modeling programs
- Assist with design plans by utilizing CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) that support highway and municipal designs of traffic signals, signing and striping, and technology systems
- Utilize GIS tools to complete data summary graphics and analysis
- Opportunity to participate in community engagement efforts such as open house events
- Participate in regular staff meetings and training opportunities, support a variety of project managers and practices with critical data and information for their projects
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) Ability to travel as needed for field reviews, client consultations, on-site inspections, etc. Ability to carry up to 25 pounds of equipment Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work approximately 8 hours or more per week during the school year and potential to work additional hours during school breaks Interest in a career within Civil, Transportation or Traffic Engineering Strong writing skills
