The Accountant IV position serves as a senior-level financial expert within the Public Works Division, responsible for overseeing complex accounting functions and supervising staff. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining transparency, accuracy, and compliance in financial reporting and operations, as well as driving strategic financial initiatives in coordination with citywide departments.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for the Sewer Utility Fund (enterprise fund)
- Assist in determining sewer rates through financial modeling and forecasting
- Supervise and manage two accounting staff within the Public Works division
- Support annual audits and contribute to budget development
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and internal policies
- Monitor and reconcile accounts, ledgers, and fund balances
- Provide financial insights to support infrastructure planning and capital improvement projects

Qualifications
College graduation with a major in accounting or equivalent
And
six years' experience in accounting, at least two years of which must have been as an Accountant III or equivalent. (No substitution for education.)
