Help protect and enhance our natural environment while engaging with the St. Paul community. As a Natural Resources Technician, you’ll support habitat restoration, lead volunteer activities, and contribute to the planning and execution of environmental projects across the city.

Responsibilities
- Perform plant and wildlife identification, invasive species removal, and land management activities like planting and prescribed burning
- Support and lead community engagement efforts, including coordinating volunteers and youth programming
- Operate equipment and tools safely in diverse field conditions and weather
- Assist with project planning, GIS mapping, site inspections, and data reporting
- Create educational materials and contribute to environmental outreach and grant support efforts
Qualifications
Requirements may be met by one of the following options:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Natural Resources, Ecology, Wildlife, Conservation Biology, Forestry, or related field. Up to four years of field experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
- An associate’s degree in Natural Resources, Ecology, Wildlife, Conservation Biology, Forestry, or related field and two years of related experience. Up to two years of field experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Must possess or obtain a MN Noncommercial Pesticide Applicator License (categories A & E) within 3 months of hire.
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out of state driver's license.
