
Saint Paul Regional Water Services is looking to hire multiple Water Meter Technicians. SPRWS provides drinking water and related services to the City of Saint Paul in addition to several surrounding suburban communities including Maplewood, West Saint Paul, Lauderdale, Falcon Heights, Mendota, and Mendota Heights. Water is also provided on a wholesale basis to the cities of Roseville, Arden Hills, and Little Canada. The utility provides water to 450,000 customers.
SPRWS consists of about 260 employees dedicated to providing quality water to customers at a reasonable cost. Water is distributed to our customers through a system that includes 1,200 miles of water mains, 94,000 service connections, 26,000 valves, and 10,000 hydrants, along with 10 pumping stations and 16 storage facilities.

Responsibilities
Here's what you can expect to do: Perform advanced-level bench and field work installing, repairing, testing, and replacing water meters in residential and commercial properties in Saint Paul and surrounding service areas. Assist in performing project activities across Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) divisions. Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to complete assigned tasks and follows established safety regulations and practices. Explain codes related to water meter functions, plumbing, and water billing to customers. Respond to complaints and assists in resolving complaints.

Qualifications
One year of basic mechanical and/or plumbing experience.
OR
Successful completion of the SPRWS Utility Trainee program.
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
