The City of Saint Paul Public Works Department is hiring within Street Design to perform engineering technician work involving land survey, traffic studies, routine construction inspection, project design, and drafting.

Here’s what you can expect to do: Research project history and collect information. Coordinate with others internally and externally to promote project development. Assist with cost estimate and schedules for project managers. Perform field walk and investigate existing project conditions during scoping and design. Create computer aided draft drawings for construction plans, standard details, project maps, and other records. Assist with permit issuance and electronic management of files and infrastructure inventory. Produce prints, roll plots, plans and other presentation materials. Qualifications

Ten semester credits in courses acceptable toward an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering as offered by the U of M or equivalent; and two years of experience as an Engineering Aide II or equivalent.

Each additional year of qualifying experience may be substituted for 3 1/3 education credits.
