Performs advanced level work in leading (three or fewer) custodial and custodian engineer workers. Cleans and maintains grounds and buildings. Maintains heating and cooling plant systems to include cleaning filters, screens, evaporators, condensers coils or grills. May drive a truck and or van to deliver and receive equipment, furniture, mail, materials, and supplies. May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Information Specific to this Position: This full-time opening is in the Department of Public Works. A typical working schedule for this position is 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, however, work may occasionally be required on evenings, weekends, and holidays on a scheduled or call-in basis. The position is based at the Dale Street Public Works Campus, however, travel to other Public Works locations will be required occasionally. This position requires outdoor work, including work on rooftops, in all types of weather. This position requires a valid driver's license by the date of appointment.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities: Sweeps, mops, cleans, sanitizes, and dusts in buildings approximately 30-60% of each workday. Performs routine mechanical and plumbing repairs. Operates and maintains boilers and HVAC systems. Provides daily work direction and instruction to the Dale Campus custodial staff to ensure that daily cleaning, garbage removal, and maintenance is performed in all buildings. Coordinates contractor work related to the maintenance and repair of building structures and equipment.

Qualifications

Two years of experience performing custodial duties to include cleaning and maintaining buildings, facilities, and grounds.

Must possess a Second Class C Operating Engineer's License.

And

Must possess maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License, or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
