SUTR is Saint Paul Public Schools Urban Teacher Residency Program in partnership with the University of St. Thomas where residents can earn their Masters degree AND Minnesota teaching license in just 15 months!

SUTR aims to recruit, prepare, support and retain effective teachers who share similar life experiences as our diverse student population at SPPS.

License currently offering: Elementary Education, Special Education (ABS), Math (5-12) & Middle School Science

*Cohort 7 starts end of May/June 2022-August 2023.

Responsibilities

Co-teach with a mentor teacher in an SPPS school for a full school year while taking graduate courses at University of St Thomas.

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an Accredited Institution Must be dedicated and passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of SPPS students Must be able to commit to the Program. SUTR will be the number one priority. *Dispositions of a SUTR candidate (either you are or can be): culturally responsive, responsive, reflective, coachable, collaborative leaders, analytical problem solvers, organized, perseverant, and resilient.
