Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Lean Value Stream Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading product and process value stream improvement projects that have global impact
  • Implementing division manufacturing and supply chain sourcing strategies
  • Developing long-term and short-term action plans to drive improvements across global value streams and manufacturing operations
  • Supporting high growth, fast paced electric vehicle / renewable products in the Tapes Value Steams within the Safety and Industrial Business Group of 3M Company
  • Creating sustainable and efficient value streams that deliver superior value-added solutions for customers

Qualifications

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) combined years technical, engineering, manufacturing, or production experience in a private, public, government or military environment

 

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Manufacturing or Technical experience in manufacturing plants
  • Previous experience with web processing, flexible insulation, nonwovens, part converting, tapes, adhesives, sealants, automotive supply chain or quality systems
  • Ability to engage and influence cross functionally within the organization
  • Formal Lean Six Sigma Training and demonstrated understanding of LEAN principles and/or Extended Value Stream Mapping
  • Project Management skills with the ability to develop and drive timelines
  • Experience with qualification processes on new or changing processes
  • Related experience in or with multiple countries or diverse cultural teams
