April 29, 2025

On Wednesday, April 30, officials from Ramsey County, the city of Arden Hills and Ryan Companies US, Inc. will gather to celebrate the groundbreaking of the first project at Rice Creek Commons, a major redevelopment in Arden Hills. The ceremony, scheduled for 9 a.m., marks the first step in transforming 427-acres of the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) site.
The project features a 157,000-square-foot advanced technology facility, set to serve as the headquarters for Micro Control Company. The facility, located on approximately 10 acres within Outlot A, a 40-acre commercial parcel. represents an important milestone.
Rice Creek Commons is a result of extensive site cleanup, which removed the location from state and federal Superfund lists. The Joint Development Authority envisions a sustainable, inclusive community providing a range of housing options, economic opportunities, and long-term growth. The site has a total future estimated development value of $1 billion.
The groundbreaking symbolizes progress and collaboration as Ramsey County and its partners reshape the site into a hub for innovation and prosperity.
