Medica to bring up to 50 jobs to St. Paul’s Lexington Parkway

September 9, 2020

Though most employees will still work from home for now, a growing suburban health insurer plans to buck recent industry trends and bring dozens of new claims and call center jobs to St. Paul’s Green Line corridor.

Medica, a Minnetonka-based health insurance company serving nine states, will seat up to 50 entry-level “feeder” jobs in offices leased within the Amherst H. Wilder building at University Avenue and Lexington Parkway, said company officials.

“It makes us a more diverse organization,” said Medica CEO John Naylor in an interview Wednesday, noting hiring will start locally.

The company’s urban expansion will begin with up to 50 call center and claims operation positions in early 2021, though many of those jobs will operate remotely — for now — as a result of the pandemic.
