Apprentice and Manufacturing Ready Free Construction Training at KOM
AMR 8-week Intro to Trades
Dates: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 12/04/23 to 1/31/24
Time: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: Roseville Adult Learning Center
Training Includes:
- Weekly hands-on projects focusing on plumbing, PVC, PeX, carpentry, stud walls, common rafters, installing windows, roofing, and masonry
- Learn construction math and how to read a tape measure
- Overview of OSHA basics and workplace safety
- Career Counseling
- Computer skills- Participants may borrow a laptop for duration of training.
- Tour union training centers and explore careers in construction work like carpentry, roofing, drywall, and painting, glazing and glassworking, tile setting, and more.
Eligibility:
- Able to commit to showing up to class every day
- 5th or 6th grade reading level in English
- Desire to get a good-paying job in construction, welding, machining or manufacturing
- Must be 18+
- Immigrants or refugees
- Persons of color
- Hispanic or Latino
