The City of Saint Paul Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI) is hiring a Program Coordinator to support our goals of furthering efforts to decriminalize homelessness and further holistic efforts to support individuals toward long-term, stable housing.

Here’s what you can expect to do: Serves as the City's technical expert in work with unsheltered individuals, provides direction to the field team, and assist in the development of policy changes. Manages unsheltered complaint process to identify needs, create connections to service, identify resources, and coordinate care for unsheltered residents. Develops the annual workplan, recommends project and program budgets, works with stakeholders to identify gaps in systems, and makes recommendations to stakeholders with findings and recommendations. Information Specific to this Position: This position is located at 375 Jackson Street, works Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30 PM with occasional night and weekend work.

Qualifications

Eight years of experience in program administration, at least two years of which must have been in a responsible administrative capacity; overall administrative responsibility for a program, including selection, hiring, or supervisory responsibilities.

Degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for work experience as follows:

Associate Degree - 2 years Bachelor’s Degree - 4 years Master’s or other Graduate-level degree - an additional 2 years

Vacancy-related experience includes outreach, program coordination, or project management work relating to unsheltered individuals or in the social services field.
