Being a sheet metal worker involves the fabrication, erection, installation, repair, replacing and servicing of all residential heating and air conditioning systems and the architectural sheet metal on such residences.

Workers are skilled and knowledgeable about heating, cooling and ventilation systems; techniques of welding, and the functions of compressors and condensers in the refrigeration cycle. Working with sheet metal also involves solar installation, hoisting and rigging, soldering, energy management and retrofitting of environmental systems.

Metro contract area is home to the main office of Local 10 in Maplewood and covers 16 of the largest populated counties of MN. The work is performed by our member’s through quality signatory contractors which includes fabrication, installation, and service of a wide range of metal products used all over the world. Service of HVAC systems, exterior and interior architectural metal products, stainless steel kitchen equipment, signage and billboards, and products for the technology industry ranging from clean rooms to computer cabinets all are just a sample of the wide range of products that Local #10 members manufacture and install.
