Responsibilities

Land/Construction Survey Crew - 3 vacancies

Here's what you can expect to do:

  • Assist in staking streets, sewer, and water main during construction projects.
  • Aid in setting up work zone traffic control systems for various engineering and land surveying projects.
  • Index, file, and maintain various construction and land survey records.
  • Assist in LIDAR data and equipment.
  • Ensure that the crew has the materials and equipment necessary to perform the day’s tasks.
  • Test, maintain, and clean survey equipment.
  • Assist on mapping projects with the GIS department.
  • Assist in CAD software such as processing data and computations.

Street Construction Inspector - 1 vacancy

Here's what you can expect to do:

  • Assist in the inspection and oversight of the contractor for Street Construction Projects.
  • Ensure City, State, and Federal specification are upheld on Construction Projects
  • Perform daily journal documentation to record location, quantity, quality, dimensions, and tolerances of constructed roadway items to ensure conformance to plans and specifications
  • Work and coordinate with residents, businesses, other city departments, contractors, and utility companies as needed

Qualifications

  • High School graduation or General Education Development Certificate (GED) with high school or post secondary course work in mathematics including algebra and geometry.
  • Some positions may require a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out of state driver's license.
