Description
Saint Paul Public Works is seeking a Development Coordinator to support and advance successful development citywide. This position oversees the Public Works site plan review process, ensuring timely project resolution, consistency in technical feedback across divisions, early identification of potential issues, and effective coordination among internal teams, private developers, and external partners.
Responsibilities
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, interior design, urban planning, engineering, or related field of study and a minimum of five years of experience in managing urban planning projects or commercial, residential and/or institutional construction projects.
- Note: A master’s degree in construction management, architecture, interior design, urban planning, engineering, or related field of study may be substituted for two years of experience in managing urban planning projects or commercial and/or institutional construction projects.
- A combination of education and experience to equal nine years or more can be used to qualify for the position.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
Qualifications
- Promote and facilitate successful development in Saint Paul by supporting and managing site plan review processes for Public Works.
- Coordinate site plan reviews, ensuring issues are identified, tracked, and resolved within project timelines.
- Collaborate between multiple entities to support project coordination from concept to completion.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead efforts to streamline site plan review and resolution processes.
- Support sustainability goals and best practices throughout the development review process.
- Review technical comments and recommendations to ensure alignment, clarity, and completeness across departments.
