The Second Judicial District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Supervisor. In addition to supervising two HR Coordinators, the person in this position will provide professional consultation and policy interpretation on a wide variety of complex HR matters.
This is a hybrid position with work accomplished onsite in downtown St. Paul and remotely, based on business need. Occasional travel within the Twin Cities or Greater Minnesota may be required. The position is classified as a Human Resources Generalist, is full-time, and exempt.

Advise managers and staff on employee and labor relations issues, performance management, and interpretation of employment laws, human resources policies, and collective bargaining agreements. Supervise and lead direct reports to ensure work such as recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, leaves of absence, ADA, benefits, and worker's compensation, is handled promptly and deadlines are met. Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment and regulatory requirements, and organizational policies and procedures for represented and unrepresented employees. Conduct and/or contribute to objective and fair workplace investigations. Help create and maintain a workplace where all persons are valued and treated with respect Identify training and development needs within the organization and partner with others to develop and/or deliver training. Six years of human resources related post-high school education and experience. Examples include but are not limited to: A four-year degree in HR, Business, or a related field and two years of experience performing Human Resources work. Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management, state and federal employment laws, and labor relations laws and practices. Demonstrated ability to analyze situations and advise managers regarding employee workplace issues. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, employees, and employee representatives. Demonstrated leadership skills, including facilitating discussions, moving a group toward a decision, presenting information as a subject matter expert, and providing counterpoints for consideration to decision makers. Ability to lead and achieve results through others. Demonstrated ability to develop effective and positive working relationships. Ability to lead through organizational change, including shifting priorities, available resources, and competing needs. Ability to develop and deliver presentations or trainings, either 1:1 or with groups. Ability to identify trends regarding HR topics and propose responses. Formal education or training in Human Resources, such as a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or HR certification. Experience working in the public sector and/or in a unionized environment. Experience supervising or leading teams or individuals.
