The Marketing Specialist serves a critical role in the success of the co-op. The position supports the Marketing Director to ensure effective and visually appealing press releases, advertising, and social media efforts. They will develop creative marketing plans and strategies based on research, consumer behavior, and industry standards to increase brand awareness, attract and retain customers, member-owners, and team members.
Location: 622 Selby Ave, Saint Paul, MN 55104; Partially remote: 1 day per week
Schedule: Monday - Friday. Occasional weekend or evening hours required

Responsibilities
Specific areas of accountability include customer service, communications, marketing content and creation, design, social media management, analytics, marketing department maintenance and sustaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Degree: College coursework in marketing, communications, or relevant field
Industry Experience: Experience working in a marketing or communications field, including campaign management, content strategy and creation, social media management, analytics, and design
Writing: Demonstrated excellent copywriting, business writing, and proofreading skills
Project Management: Ability to successfully manage projects with cross-functional teams, collaborating and building strong, effective relationships
Marketing Content & Creation: Experience in creating engaging content for social media, email newsletters, signage, and website content management utilizing creativity and customer insights; demonstrated meticulous attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring a consistent, accurate and positive brand image
Communication: Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentations
Customer Service: Ability to provide excellent customer service, including positive interactions, responsiveness, and follow-through
Initiative: Ability to assess situations, identify problems and opportunities and take action
Culturally Competent: Cultural competency and the commitment to work with diverse populations and other stakeholders
Technical Skills: Ability to utilize internet quickly and accurately, email, word processing, graphics and multimedia, spreadsheets with formulas and databases; create slideshows in PowerPoint, formulas in Excel, Mail Merge in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
Design: General understanding of layout, color and photo editing, including use of tools such as Canva, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator)
Video Production: Experience in creating and editing videos for social media
