We are hiring a Community Library Manager II to provide leadership at the Rondo Community Library. We are seeking candidates who are leaders and managers, who embrace innovation, and are committed to applying equity principles to library management. This role will work to create welcoming places and experiences, help community members, lead teams, and take on branch and system-wide leadership roles.

Here’s what you can expect to do: Supports library system initiatives and provides tools and resources for staff learning and growth. Supervises the work of library staff and oversees performance management. Coordinates and implements collections, programs, technology systems and use, and development projects. Executes community engagement objectives and provides ongoing outreach. Works with leadership to facilitate partnerships in the library space, is proactive in engaging community, and responsive to community direction. Leads customer service delivery in the building and through various programs and services. Coordinates daily operations and services of a larger or more complex branch or as part of a system wide responsibility, ensuring the needs of staff and patrons are met in a safe and welcoming environment. Information Specific to this position: We have one full-time opening at the Rondo Community Library. The schedule for this position is full-time and will include some evenings and weekends. This position is 100% on-site.

The Rondo Community Library is a large, busy, and vibrant library in the center of Saint Paul. Rondo Library has thriving community partnerships, a busy homework center, and high meeting room usage. The Rondo Community Library was planned and named to reflect the rich history and diversity of the Rondo and Frogtown neighborhoods. Previously located at and known as the Lexington Outreach Branch, Rondo houses the mobile library and community services offices.

Qualifications

An American Library Association (ALA) accredited master’s degree in Library Science.

OR

A bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience to include at least three of the following: a library setting, project or program implementation, volunteer coordination, team facilitation, customer service delivery, or community outreach work.

OR

An associate degree or two years of relevant college coursework; AND four years of professional experience to include the majority of the following: experience in library setting, project or program implementation, volunteer coordination, team facilitation, customer service delivery, or community outreach work.

Four years of vacancy related experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
