The Department of Public Works is hiring Snow Emergency Ticketing Workers who are available to work on short notice for the 2024-2025 snow season. These are temporary positions for on call work, for City of Saint Paul during declared Snow Emergencies.

Here’s what you can expect to do: Issuing citations (tickets) to vehicles not in compliance with snow emergency ordinances. Ensuring all citations are completed with clear, legible handwriting. Safely Operating a City vehicle, including getting in and out of a vehicle numerous times during a work shift. Working in hazardous winter conditions, including, and not limited to snow, cold, and ice. Communicating with others including coworkers, towing company workers, and residents regarding topics related to issuing snow emergency parking citations.

Information Specific to this Position: The Snow Emergency Ticketing Workers will only work when a Snow Emergency is declared in Saint Paul. The number of Snow Emergencies and when they occur varies each year depending on the weather; this may include weekends and holidays. There are no benefits for this position.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the following requirements: Be at least 18 years of age or older Possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D driver's license, or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
