This position provides customer service to participants and guests at the Parks and Recreation Department.
Responsibilities
Essential Work Functions:
Provides excellent customer service to participants and guests of the Parks and Recreation Department. Assist customers with daily admission, memberships registration in programs and facility rentals, which includes answering questions, reserving rooms/shelters, and providing receipts. Provide counter coverage and assist customers with various requests. Provide tours to customers through the facility. Answer and direct all calls in a professional, friendly manner and take complete and accurate messages. Operate Parks and Recreation software and necessary office equipment. Scan and properly file documents electronically to ensure efficient and effective future retrieval. Make copies and assist Parks and Recreation Superintendent, Recreation Coordinator, and Event Manager/Recreation Coordinator when asked. Monitor and enforce all applicable Parks and Recreation policies for participants and guests. Assist in gym set up (setting up volleyball nets, raising/lowering curtain and basketball hoops and moving portable volleyball hoops).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience:
High school diploma. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Ability to perform cashier duties accurately. Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to handle stressful situations. Willing to become first aid and CPR certified within 30 days of employment. Ability to learn recreation software. Ability to work a schedule of up to 20 hours per week.
