THE POSITION The Senior Project Manager will oversee the scope, schedule, budget, consultants, and contractors for various projects, including marine infrastructure improvements, brownfield remediation, and commercial/industrial land redevelopment. This role involves managing all aspects of project execution from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with regulatory requirements.

General Project Management: • Develop project scopes and assemble necessary resources for successful execution. • Create and manage project schedules, track status, and identify critical path items. • Estimate project costs, secure funding, and monitor budgets and reimbursements. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies. • Provide updates and recommendations to senior management and board members. • Lead community engagement efforts and project update meetings. • Hire and manage consultants, coordinate entitlement processes, and secure permits/approvals.
Construction Project Management: • Oversee design, engineering, and construction documentation preparation. • Manage project meetings, contractor procurement, and public bidding processes. • Process payment applications and ensure compliance with labor standards and procurement requirements. • Provide field oversight to ensure successful project execution.
Harbor Projects: • Implement projects to enhance river commerce and optimize harbor operations. • Manage capital improvements, funding, and special permitting for river terminal projects. • Strengthen tenant relationships and address emergency needs as they arise.
Land Redevelopment Projects: • Support site acquisition, lease negotiations, and property valuation. • Manage multiple urban infill, adaptive reuse, and new construction projects with a focus on community engagement and social equity, consultant/construction contract solicitation and administration, and field oversight. • Secure entitlements, liability assurances, and funding for redevelopment and environmental remediation.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS • 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with a focus on construction and contractor oversight • bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, geology, real estate or related fields preferred • Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, or Real Estate License preferred Please note: We will consider candidates with a comparable combination of experience and education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES • Strong understanding of Port Authority practices and the construction business. • Proficiency in spreadsheet and project management software. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and professionally. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
