Responsibilities
Here's what you can expect to do in the role:
Plans, directs, and implements citywide recycling, organic waste, and solid waste management environmental programs. Manages vendor contracts, analyzes performance, and evaluates service delivery. Develops policies, procedures, and program management mechanisms. Performs grants writing and management, including developing funding sources and tracking grant finances. Acts as a liaison with community groups; creates contracts and agreements for each program; attends meetings; represents the City on committees; and evaluates and monitors program data. Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Ecology, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management, Public Administration, or equivalent. Four years of increasingly responsible, professional environmental, recycling, or waste management experience to include coordinating or administering recycling, waste, or resource management programs and projects.
Or, a Master's Degree in Ecology, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management, Public Administration, or equivalent. Two years of related work experience in environmental or waste management to include coordinating and administering recycling, waste, or resource management programs and projects.
Professional experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis. A combination of education and experience must total eight years or more.
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License, or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
